Campaign Settings for Data Privacy Compliance (#2038)

In order to better comply with GDPR and other global data protection regulations, we are slowly changing the way traffic we handling traffic from our publishers. This means that we will better care about users who have expressly denied their consent to process their personal data (PII). For this usergroup frequency campaign will not be available and targeting options will be limited. You can decide for each campaign whether and how your campaigns should be delivered to users without consent.


Important Notes

  • Only selected publisher are currently sending consent information for their users.
  • The following settings are not available in the current version of our User Interface (UI).

Please ask your account manager for more details and to make the right settings for you.


Frequency Capping

In case a user denies PII consent we are not able to apply campaign frequency capping (for clicks and impressions) to this particular user. You can decide whether your campaign should be served and if you want to apply any discount for this traffic.

Available Options

  1. Only show when Frequency Capping is available (false / default)
  2. Show when Frequency Capping is available, or at a discounted price when not (true / recommended)

Recommended Settings

Recommended Setting Recommended Discount
Banner Campaigns (CPM) Show when Frequency Capping is available, or at a discounted price when not 50%
Native Ads Campaigns (CPC) Show when Frequency Capping is available, or at a discounted price when not 0%

Please note: Only set option 1 if you want strict frequency capping for your campaign. Keep in mind that you will then definitely lose coverage.


Targeting

In case a user denies PII consent we are not able to detect the full set of targeting options. You as an advertiser can decide if you want your campaign to be shown and/or if you want to apply a discount for this traffic.

Available Options

  1. Only show ads when chosen targeting option matches (false / recommended)
  2. Also show when unknown but at a discounted price (true)

Carrier Only show ads when chosen targeting option matches 0%
Connection Type Only show ads when chosen targeting option matches 0%
Device Only show ads when chosen targeting option matches 0%
Operation System Only show ads when chosen targeting option matches 0%

Please note: Only select option 2 if you have selected one or more values for this specific targeting option and strictly want to meet this criteria.
